Spring 2016: Sunday in the Park with George

Martin recently directed ‘Sunday in the Park with George’ which was performed by the students at Central School of Speech and Drama.

Staged on three sides, audiences entered a 3D world of Seurat’s paintings. Using ‘dots’ of light, characters moved through spot-like patches of light, becoming physical embodiments of the characters in the painting.

Starting all in white, actors became the artist’s canvas themselves and added costume as they were painted.
